NEGRONI WEEK RETURNS: A CELEBRATION OF TIMELESS BONDS AND COCKTAILS FOR A CAUSE
Singapore's Cocktail Scene Unites for Charity and Creativity.
Negroni Week, the annual global celebration of the classic Negroni cocktail, is back for its 11th edition, and it's raising glasses for a worthy cause. Themed "The Power of Timeless Bonds," this year's Negroni Week aims to honor the enduring connection between bartenders and the spirits industry while highlighting the irreplaceable role of Campari in this iconic cocktail. With over 90 participating bars and a range of pop-up events and partnerships, the event is set to take Singapore by storm from September 18th to 24th, 2023.
Negroni Week was launched in 2013 by Imbibe Magazine as a way to celebrate the world's best-selling classic cocktail and raise funds for charitable causes. It started as a grassroots campaign with just 120 participating bars globally. Over the years, Negroni Week has grown exponentially, demonstrating its resilience in an industry filled with fleeting trends. To date, the initiative has raised over US$4 million for charitable organizations.
From September 18th to 24th, 2023, Negroni Week will once again join forces with Imbibe Magazine and partner with Slow Food International, a global organization dedicated to preserving traditional gastronomy and sustainable food production. This year's fundraising approach will require participating bars to contribute a minimum registration fee of $25, which will go into the Negroni Week Fund established by Slow Food International. These funds will be directed towards various local projects. Additionally, bars around the world will have the option to donate a portion of the proceeds from every Negroni sold during the week to their chosen local charities.
The heart of Negroni Week lies in the Negroni cocktail itself, which was first created in 1919 with Campari as its signature ingredient. Campari's bittersweet complexity has remained a fundamental component of the cocktail, much like the enduring bonds between bartenders, customers, and the craft itself. This year's theme underscores the unifying force that binds these elements together, forming a thriving industry, with Campari at the heart of every Negroni served.
Participating bars are encouraged to create unique renditions of the Negroni that reflect their personal philosophies and distinctive styles. Alongside the traditional combination of equal parts gin, vermouth, and Campari, Negroni enthusiasts are invited to embark on a diverse and flavorful journey by exploring bars throughout the city.
Singapore's Negroni Week 2023 will see over 90 bars joining the movement. Returning participants include beloved venues like Jigger & Pony, Anti:dote, Tess Bar & Kitchen, and more. They will be joined by new additions such as NightHawk, Jungle Ballroom, Puffy Bois, and Offtrack, offering a wide range of Negroni experiences to patrons.
In an effort to amplify the campaign's message, Campari Group will feature 10 bartenders who will share their inspirations and personal experiences with the cocktail through a content series that will be showcased across marketing materials and Campari Singapore's official social media channels.
Negroni Week in Singapore promises to be an unforgettable celebration of timeless bonds, innovative cocktails, and meaningful contributions to charitable causes. Don't miss your chance to join in this global toast to tradition and philanthropy.
