A woman in a long white dress stands barefoot on hot asphalt. Behind her, a man swings a huge red-and-white flag. In front of her, thousands of fans pack the grandstand under the Lombok sun. Before the bikes take over, one voice has the whole circuit.

That was the opening of the Agnez Mo MotoGP Mandalika 2026 moment, and it went viral within hours.

What Happened at the MotoGP Mandalika 2026 opening ceremony?

Singer Agnez Mo opened the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at the Mandalika circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). She sang “Kebyar-Kebyar” and “Indonesia Raya” in front of MotoGP riders, including Marc Márquez and Fabio Quartararo. Indonesian riders Veda Ega Pratama and Mario Suryo Aji were also there. Two clips from the ceremony have already passed 59,900 likes combined on Instagram.

Why did this performance get so much attention?

Because it was simple. There was no big stage and no wall of dancers behind her. It was a singer, a microphone, a flag and a very long stretch of track.

Her white dress was loose and light, and it moved with every gust of wind. The flag beside her moved the same way. In the video, the dress and the flag look like they are dancing together.

The surprising part is the shoes, or the lack of them. In the footage, Agnez appears to be barefoot on a racetrack, a surface built for 300 km/h machines, not bare feet. It is a small detail, but it is the one people keep pointing out.

Who else was on the track with Agnez Mo?

Dancers from NTB filled the background in traditional clothing from Lombok, Sumbawa and nearby areas. Their red and gold costumes stood out against the grey asphalt and the white banner behind them. It made the opening feel local, not like something copied from another country’s race.

A man in a red-and-white outfit held the flag. The flag was big enough that you could see it cut through the air from the back of the grandstand.

Why does the opening ceremony matter for Mandalika?

Mandalika is not just a race. It is NTB’s biggest chance to show itself to a global TV audience. The opening ceremony is the first thing that audience sees, so it sets the mood for the whole weekend.

Choosing a national anthem sung by a well-known Indonesian singer, with local dancers, sends a clear message. This is an Indonesian event, and the country wants to be seen that way.
