WHITE DESERT ANTARCTICA UNVEILS NEW BESPOKE BREMONT LADIES WHITE DESERT WATCH
This new watch adds to the White Desert collection which already features a sports watch based on the Bremont ALT1-WT World Timer 2020 edition.
Pioneers of luxury travel in Antarctica, White Desert and award-winning British luxury watch company, Bremont Watches are excited to share the details of their latest collaboration, the new Bremont White Desert Ladies watch.
The Last Continent has long captured the imagination of global explorers. To celebrate the experience of travelling to Antarctica with White Desert, Bremont’s White Desert ladies watch was conceived as a memento of the luxurious expedition, only available to those who have made the iconic journey to the rarely seen interior. This new watch adds to the White Desert collection which already features a sports watch based on the Bremont ALT1-WT World Timer 2020 edition.
Collaborating for over a decade, Bremont and White Desert are both family-owned businesses born from a passion for aviation and adventure. This new bespoke piece is based on the Bremont ladies SOLO-34-AJ with a case material made of stainless steel and an optional Bezel claw set with 60 white brilliant cut 1.35mm VVS FG Diamonds (total carat weight 0.7ct). Movement is a modified calibre BE-92AV automatic chronomometer with 42-hour power reserve.
The watch can be ordered on both the calf-skin leather strap and 16 mm stainless steel bracelet and is water resistant to 100 metres. Featuring a nod to the experience that guests can enjoy on the Last Continent, the face has a bespoke dial set over a silhouette map of Antarctica raised in the background, with domed anti-reflective, scratch resistant sapphire crystal.
Unusually, multiple time zones are traversed in a few steps at the South Pole - an iconic highlight activity with White Desert - so the watch has been set to GMT but allows world time functionality with a date at 6:00. The backside of the watch is stainless steel with integrated flat exhibition crystal, 4 stainless steel screws with polished heads.
Available to the most avid-explorers journeying to Antarctica’s interior, these guests will embark on White Desert’s most popular itinerary ‘Emperors and South Pole,’ an 8-day adventure on the Continent. Through the company’s pioneering efforts, access to the isolated beauty of Antarctica is possible for small groups of up to 12 via private jet from Cape Town.
Guests fly 5 hours either by the company’s Gulfstream 550, or private A340 First/Business Class across the Southern Ocean from South Africa to its 3000m-long blue ice runway, Wolf’s Fang Runway. An exclusive backdrop for luxurious adventure, the Continent is a pristine glacial landscape dominated by jagged peaks and iridescent ice formations.
Guests will pay a visit to Atka Bay, to see over 14,000 breeding pairs of Penguins and their newly hatched chicks, as well as the South Pole. This experience is like no other, as the South Pole is one of the only two stationary points on this rotating Earth and the very lowest point on Earth. Other activities on offer include climbing, fat biking, abseiling or guests can enjoy a gentler pace with delicious picnics, massages, or a trip to the newly added sauna and wellness pod.
Alongside the launch of the new Bremont White Desert ladies watch, White Desert Antarctica has announced the details of their new camp, Echo, launching for the 2022/23 season. Inspired by the seminal age of Space exploration, the stylish, modern new eco-camp will feature six heated, cutting-edge bedroom ‘sky pods’ complete with expansive floor to ceiling windows commanding views of the dramatic landscape beyond.
Crafted from composite fiberglass, each of the space-inspired sky pods will be designed for two guests, with interiors featuring retro space-age detailing and luxurious furnishings. As with all their camps, White Desert has designed Echo to be dismantled without a trace, leaving no more than a transitory impact on Antarctica.
The Bremont White Desert ladies watch is available for guests in camp or on return from Antarctica, POA. For a trip with White Desert Antarctica, prices start from $750,000 for an exclusive group of 12 pax or $62,500pp for FIT guests for a 5-day tour and includes return flights & transfers from Cape Town to Antarctica, specific intra-Continental Antarctic flights, all accommodation, food & beverages and activities around camp. White Desert has pledged to use $1,000 per person per trip on their conservation, community and sustainability initiatives.
