What Is PINTU Focus Week 2026?

PINTU Focus Week is the annual centerpiece of PINTU, a bilateral fashion incubation program run by the Embassy of France in Indonesia–Institut français d'Indonésie (IFI), LAKON Indonesia, and JF3 Fashion Festival. Now in its fifth edition since launching in 2022, the 2026 program runs 22–29 July in Jakarta and has so far supported more than 120 designers, entrepreneurs, and fashion professionals across France and Indonesia. This year's headline addition is the first Franco-Indonesian Residency Program, alongside runway shows, a mentorship track, and a public seminar on sustainability and textile innovation on 28 July at IFI Jakarta.

Why Does a Fashion Program Need a Presidential Declaration?
This isn't just designers networking over canapés. PINTU is tied directly to the Borobudur Declaration, a joint cultural strategy signed by President Prabowo Subianto and President Emmanuel Macron in May 2025 that commits both countries to building fashion and craft cooperation — and getting designers real access to international markets. The commitment got a refresh in April 2026, when Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon met French Minister of Culture Catherine Pégard in Paris to reaffirm the partnership.

Who's Behind the First Franco-Indonesian Residency?
Here's where it gets interesting. Since April 1, French designers Mickael Nana and Lisa Rayar have been working alongside Indonesian designers Beatrice Angelica and Gabriel Marcella Budiono  not remotely, but on the ground in Jakarta, Mojokerto, and Lombok, digging into batik and traditional weaving techniques.

The result: two collections, "GARUDA" and "AU LARGE," unveiling at the "French Designers featuring PINTU Residents" runway on 23 July at JF3 Fashion Festival.

Two shows, one night  23 July at the Fashion Tent, Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading. The 4:30 p.m. afternoon show features PINTU Incubees, École Duperré Paris, and Future Fashion Designer talents. The 6:30 p.m. evening show brings out Rohan Mirza, Louise Marcaud, TAREET (Etienne Diop) × DENIMITUP (Vincent Mickael), Fengyuan Dai for 30%70, plus the GARUDA and AU LARGE residency collections.
