Most 11-year-olds spend late September thinking about school tests. Mikhayla Shanum Caya is thinking about a concrete bowl in Japan. The Indonesian skateboarder, known as "Keke," is the youngest Indonesian athlete at the 2026 Asian Games, and she will ride in the women's park event.

Who Is Mikhayla Shanum Caya?
Keke's story starts at home. Her father, Anthony Adam Caya, is a former national skateboard athlete and coach, and he put her on a board early. The whole family backs her, says Indonesia's Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). Fans can follow her on Instagram at @kekesrintil.
In the ministry's photos, she wears a pink helmet with a small red-and-white flag and big pink knee pads. Her deck is purple and pink, printed with cartoon eyes. It looks like a toy, until she takes it airborne.

What Has She Already Won?
Her record is longer than her age suggests. In 2024, she took second place in the Park Intermediate class at Mass Singapore and won gold at PON XXI Aceh-Sumut, Indonesia's national games. In 2025, she finished first in the Park Intermediate class at Baron Bay.
Then came the big stages. The 2025 SEA Games skateboarding events were held in Bangkok in December, and she reached the final. In April 2026, she placed sixth at the Asian Skateboarding Championships in China. That is a top-six finish at continental level, at age 11.
How Does Women's Park Skateboarding Work?
Park skating happens in a bowl-shaped course with steep walls and curves. Wheels rattle on concrete, then the tail cracks against the surface as a rider lands. There is no stopwatch. Judges score difficulty, execution and originality.
At the last Asian Games in Hangzhou, only nine skaters from seven nations entered women's park. Japan's Hinano Kusaki won gold, with China's Li Yujuan and Mao Jiasi taking silver and bronze. In a field that small, one clean run can change the podium.
Here is the part worth sharing. Skateboarding is one of the Asian Games sports that act as an indirect Olympic qualifier, so results here count toward ranking pathways for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Every run in Japan carries weight beyond the podium.
Who Else Is on Indonesia's Skateboard Team?
The street team is Sanggoe Darma Tanjung, Basral Graito Hutomo, Ni Wayan Malana Fairbrother and Zeefara Mahika Darmawan. The park team is Firdausy Nuzula Putra Hartanto, Nyimas Bunga Cinta and Mikhayla. Sanggoe already knows the podium: he won silver in men's street at the last Asian Games in Hangzhou.
What Does the 2026 Asian Games Mean for Her?
Kemenpora calls Aichi-Nagoya a chance to gain new experience, show her ability and keep growing as a young Indonesian athlete. The real story is bigger than one result: a skater who is 11, already a Games athlete, with many seasons still ahead.
